Warblogging.com (UPDATE: link defunct) reports that Attorney General John Ashcroft today asked Congress for the power to indefinitely hold suspected terrorists and to seek the death penalty for any terrorist act, including "material support" to a terrorist group. A crime that can consist of as little as a donation to a "terrorist charity" at a mosque. This is so totally beyond all common sense, I can hardly understand how they get away with it.
